The Indian government has reportedly given preliminary approval to Apple’s 14 Chinese suppliers to set up assembly plants in the country.
Luxshare Precision Industry, Sunny Optical Technology Group, Han’s Laser Technology Industry Group, and Shenzhen YUTO Packaging Technology are among the companies that have been approved by key Indian ministries. According to reports, the tech giant informed the union government that the services of these 14 suppliers were required to expand its presence in the country. Surprisingly, Apple was said to have submitted a list of 17 suppliers. At least one of these was rejected by Indian authorities, who cited the applicant’s direct ties to the Chinese government.
