Apple workplace rules violate U.S. labor law, agency finds

A US labour agency found that Apple Inc has workplace policies that illegally discourage employees from discussing working conditions.

Unless Apple settles first, the National Labor Relations Board will issue a complaint targeting the policies and claiming Apple executives made comments that stymied worker organising, an agency official said in an email reviewed by Reuters on Monday. Ashley Gjovik, a former Apple senior engineering manager who filed complaints against the company in 2021, received the email from the official. The NLRB investigates worker and union complaints and decides whether to file formal complaints against companies. The agency may seek to overturn workplace policies and compel employers to notify employees of legal violations.
