Apple to raise App Store prices in multiple countries next month

The App Store price increase will apply to several countries this time around, according to a note sent to developers. Chile, Egypt, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, South Korea, Sweden, Vietnam, and every territory that uses the euro as its currency – including France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Spain – are all affected.

There are no details on why Apple will raise App Store prices in these countries, but it is likely due to a drop in the value of local currencies against the US dollar. For example, the euro has now reached parity with the dollar, which has never occurred in the last 20 years. For the same reason, Apple products have become more expensive in Europe.
