Apple does not plan to comply with the government’s mandate to pre-install the state-owned Sanchar Saathi cyber safety app on its smartphones, Reuters reported, citing sources — though company sources told CNBC-TV18 that Apple will likely work with the government to find a middle ground, similar to its negotiations in Russia.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) had ordered all manufacturers to preload the Sanchar Saathi app on every mobile phone sold in India.
