
Meta, the parent company of Facebook’s social media platform, will discontinue its Live Shopping service in order to focus on Reels, Meta’s short video content product available on Facebook and Instagram.
“You will no longer be able to host any new or scheduled live shopping events on Facebook beginning October 1, 2022,” Facebook stated on its business help page. “As consumers’ viewing habits shift to short-form video, we’re focusing on Reels on Facebook and Instagram, Meta.” Users can still broadcast live events, but they won’t be able to tag products.
