‘Pixels’ Token Launch Date Set as Binance Reveals PIXEL Staking Rewards

The PIXEL token is almost here. Pixels, a popular crypto game running on the Ronin network, announced late Wednesday that it will debut the game’s token with the debut of a Binance Launchpool promotion that will reward users with token incentives.

Crypto exchange Binance will roll out the token with its Launchpool promo, which lets Binance customers earn PIXEL in return for staking either Binance’s BNB or the FDUSD stablecoin in respective liquidity pools. In total, 350 million PIXEL will be offered through the Launchpool campaign, representing 7% of the total token supply.

The Launchpool run-up begins Friday, February 9 and will last for 10 days, culminating with Binance listing the PIXEL token on its exchange on February 19. This would be the official launch date for the PIXEL token, which will be available for trading on that date.

It’s not immediately clear whether Pixels will airdrop PIXEL tokens to players who prevailed in the game’s play-to-airdrop campaigns. In total, about 28,000 wallets are eligible for the PIXEL airdrop based on the results of in-game incentive programs. Decrypt’s GG asked a Ronin representative for clarification on airdrop timing but did not immediately receive a response.

Pixels is a farming and life simulation game that runs on Ronin, an Ethereum scaling network focused on gaming. The game previously operated on Polygon, another scaling network, but migrated to Ronin last fall.

Between the migration and play-to-airdrop plans, Pixels has spurred a sizable increase in daily active users on Ronin, the chain most associated with the monster-battling game Axie Infinity. According to data from Nansen, Ronin active users have spiked from about 20,000 in November to 665,000 as of Thursday.

Alongside the impending PIXEL launch, Pixels announced that it will sunset its existing BERRY in-game “soft currency” token in an effort to help sustain the game’s token economy. Pixels will offer a swap for the token, exchanging them at a rate of 1,000 BERRY for 7.6175 PIXEL.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it. He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
