Saudi edtech iStoria closes Seed round at $1.3 million

Saudi Arabia-based edtech iStoria, has raised $1.3 million in a Seed round from Nama Ventures, Classera, Flat6Labs, BIM Ventures, and several other angel investors.

Launched in 2022 by Abdullah Al-Jaberi, Faisal Al-Hamoud, Abdel Nasser Al-Wali, Ismail Ashour, and Khaled Al-Rashed, iStoria is a specialised application for teaching the English language in partnership with Oxford.

iStoria will use the new capital to enhance its platform, accelerate innovation, and expanding its reach to learners worldwide.

iStoria, a specialized application for teaching the English language, is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its Seed investment round, securing a total of 5 million Saudi riyals in funding. This milestone was achieved with the support and participation of notable investors including Nama Ventures، Classera, Flat6Labs, BIM Ventures, and several prominent angel investors.

With an impressive user base exceeding one million learners worldwide, iStoria has garnered high levels of satisfaction, boasting a remarkable App Store rating of 4.6 out of 5. This surge in popularity has been driven by the application’s expansion into the educational sector, where it has forged partnerships with numerous private and government schools. These collaborations have enabled schools to incorporate iStoria into their curriculum, facilitating English language development for students and offering direct supervision.

iStoria, a Saudi-based initiative in partnership with Oxford, stands out for its unique approach to English language education. It emphasizes vocabulary-building through graded-reader stories tailored for learners of all levels, accompanied by comprehension questions and rigorous tests to master vocabulary. This method is thoughtfully designed to ensure learners succeed in mastering the international language tests.
