Shiprocket and Truecaller join forces to empower online sellers

Shiprocket, a leading eCommerce enablement platform in India, has formed a strategic alliance with Truecaller, a globally recognized communication platform, to address the dynamic landscape of mobile commerce.

This collaboration aims to revolutionize the online shopping experience and empower independent eCommerce merchants throughout India. By streamlining mobile onboarding and shopping journeys, the partnership is set to deliver a seamless consumer experience for the 3 lakh Shiprocket merchants.

The initiative aligns with the significant growth anticipated in mobile commerce, with projections indicating it to reach $46.4 billion in India by 2023. Shiprocket, through this partnership, seeks to facilitate the growth of merchants in this burgeoning market by providing a straightforward consumer experience.

Saahil Goel, Co-founder & CEO of Shiprocket, emphasized the strategic utilization of funds: “The raised capital will be used towards product development, user acquisition, and testing of core app features. This strategic allocation is expected to enhance the platform’s offerings and user experience significantly.”

Setting itself apart from platforms like LinkedIn and GitHub, Medial distinguishes itself by offering both real identity and anonymous features. The startup is currently nurturing a community of over 5,000 beta-stage users, gearing up for an official launch by the end of January 2024.

Truecaller’s 1-Tap number-based OTP-less verification solution plays a pivotal role in expediting the onboarding process for new Shiprocket sellers. This innovative verification method is poised to reduce friction, resulting in faster sign-ups and facilitating a swift and secure online checkout experience for shoppers.

Saahil Goel further commented on the benefits of the collaboration, stating, “Truecaller’s OTP-less verification combined with Shiprocket Checkout solution will enable a seamless experience for the consumers. This will help our merchants further reduce cart abandonment rates and expand their consumer base among the mobile-first audiences.”

To enhance communication between Shiprocket’s merchant ecosystem and customers, the partnership incorporates Truecaller’s Verified Business Caller ID solution. This addition ensures a trusted, safe, and productive communication experience, especially for essential use cases like delivery and support.

Priyam Bose, Global Head GTM & Developer Products at Truecaller, highlighted the company’s commitment to empowering businesses: “With this key collaboration with Shiprocket, we are streamlining and elevating their merchant’s digital-led operations across the consumer experience lifecycle, from onboarding to checkout to communication through our business suite of products from the Truecaller platform.”

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it.
