Swiggy Introduces ‘Pocket Hero’ Feature Catering to Value-Conscious Consumers

Swiggy, the food and grocery delivery platform, has introduced a new feature called “Pocket Hero” aimed at offering additional benefits to cost-conscious users. Currently in pilot mode in Delhi, Pocket Hero provides extra cashback and discounts of up to 60% on food orders from select restaurants. The feature includes partnerships with five restaurants, namely Pink Box, 34 Chowringhee Lane, Cold Love Ice Cream, The Chai Story, and Chai Chapter.

Sidharth Bhakoo, VP, National Business Head at Swiggy, explained that Pocket Hero is designed to make food delivery more accessible to users who seek better value for money. The feature delivers discounts from partner restaurants along with free delivery, aiming to provide customers with convenience without compromising their budget.

Swiggy has been actively introducing new features in pilot mode, including the ecommerce service Maxx for delivering utility goods within an hour. The company has also ventured into premium grocery with the Handpicked feature and rebranded its morning grocery delivery service to InsanelyGood. Swiggy’s continuous innovation aligns with its efforts to create a broader shopping ecosystem while maintaining its core propositions in food delivery and grocery services.

In preparation for a public listing, Swiggy recently appointed Anand Kripalu, Managing Director and Global Chief Executive Officer of EPL Limited, as an independent director and chairperson of its board. The company aims for a public listing between July and September next year, according to reports. Swiggy’s food delivery business grew by 17%, delivering a gross merchandise value of $1.43 billion in the first six months of the year, as reported by its investor Prosus in its annual report.
