Rapido Facilitates Free Rides to 2,600 Polling Stations, Encouraging Voter Turnout in Telangana

In a bid to promote democratic participation, ride-sharing platform Rapido has unveiled a commendable initiative by offering free rides to over 2,600 polling stations in the city on November 30. This move is strategically designed to aid voters and contribute to boosting voter turnout, particularly among the predominantly young user base in Telangana.

According to a press release issued by the company, Rapido’s commitment to enhancing voter participation in Telangana reflects its dedication to the democratic process. By providing free bike rides to polling stations, Rapido aims to eliminate transportation barriers and encourage citizens to exercise their fundamental right to vote.

Pavan Guntupalli, Co-founder of Rapido, emphasized the significance of India’s democracy and the company’s role as disruptors in ensuring every vote counts. Guntupalli urged people to participate in greater numbers without worrying about transportation hurdles on Election Day. The provision of free rides aligns with Rapido’s mission to facilitate a seamless voting experience for citizens.

Recognizing transportation as a crucial factor influencing voter turnout, Rapido’s initiative not only removes barriers but also strives to make the election process more inclusive. The offer of free rides is a proactive step toward fostering widespread participation in what is often referred to as the festival of democracy.

As Election Day approaches, Rapido’s commitment to promoting civic engagement through accessible transportation demonstrates the company’s dedication to social responsibility. By enabling citizens to reach polling stations conveniently, Rapido contributes to creating a more inclusive and participatory democratic experience for the people of Telangana.
