US government may have been spying on citizens with AT&T, claims report

The US government’s surveillance program, the Data Analytical Services (DAS), partnered with AT&T, has been tracking over a trillion domestic phone records annually. Originally known as Hemisphere, DAS allows law enforcement agencies to access and analyze phone records, including those of non-suspects and victims. Leaked documents reveal the extensive use of DAS data for various purposes, raising questions about its legality and scope. The program has received over $6.1 million in funding since 2013.
