Former Apple design chief Jony Ive and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman are reportedly discussing the development of an “iPhone of artificial intelligence.” The project aims to create a device that offers a natural and intuitive way to interact with AI, similar to how the original iPhone transformed mobile computing. The CEO of Softbank, Masayoshi Son, is expected to invest $1 billion in Altman’s AI hardware, with the involvement of chip designer Arm. However, no formal agreement has been reached, and it may take several months before any announcement is made.
