Prime Minister Narendra Modi plans to launch 75 digital banking units (DBUs) across 75 districts on Sunday in order to strengthen the country’s digital banking ecosystem.
DBUs are physical locations that will offer a variety of digital banking services. They will contain a certain amount of digital infrastructure that will allow them to deliver digital banking products and services in both self-service and assisted modes. PM Modi will virtually launch digital banking units, or DBUs, in places like Leh, Lakshadweep, Aizawl, Kota, Nainital, Jammu, and Lucknow. The project involves 11 public sector banks, 12 private banks, and 1 small finance bank.
