The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has issued two separate advisories warning of penalties for airing betting advertisements, targeting private broadcasters, OTT players, and digital news publishers.
“Such advertisements violate various related laws, and has strongly advised TV channels and digital news publishers to refrain from broadcasting such betting platforms or their surrogate news websites… “The Ministry has also advised online ad intermediaries not to target such advertisements to Indian audiences,” the Ministry stated. It’s worth noting that MIB collaborated with the Department of Consumer Affairs to issue the two advisories.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it.
