Schwing Stetter Collaborates with VIT to Offer B-Tech Degree to Employees

Schwing Stetter India (SSI), a prominent manufacturer of construction and concreting equipment, has entered into an agreement with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, to provide select employees of SSI with a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in manufacturing engineering.

VG Sakthikumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Schwing Stetter India, stated, “As the manufacturing industry expands, it becomes essential for young workers to have the opportunity to learn, understand, and innovate in order to advance in their careers. However, some of them face limitations in their ability to learn due to financial constraints. Our objective with this initiative is to bridge the skill gap and provide them with an opportunity to make a greater contribution.”

As part of the collaboration, VIT will facilitate faculty visits to Schwing Stetter India’s Global Manufacturing Hub (GmH) in Cheyyar to conduct classes. Additionally, employees will spend two weeks at VIT to gain campus exposure and collaborate with other students on projects.

G Viswanathan, Chancellor of VIT, commented, “By establishing such partnerships, we can collectively cultivate a more dynamic and skilled workforce capable of meeting the ever-evolving demands of the modern world.”
