MeitY launches AI governance report; govt favours innovation-first, light-touch regulation

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) on Wednesday, November 5, released its AI Governance Report, outlining India’s evolving policy approach to artificial intelligence.

Speaking at the launch, MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan said the government is taking a “conscious and deliberative approach” by not leading with regulation but instead enabling innovation.
