Smartphone export has increased 127 times in the last decade, touching a value of ₹2 lakh crore in 2024–25, up from ₹1,500 crore in 2014-15.
Electronics has now emerged as India’s third-largest and fastest-growing export category in 2024–25, up from the seventh position in 2021–22, driven mainly by an increase in smartphone manufacturing. The government said the sector is on track to become the country’s second-largest exported item.
