40th Edition Aims to Strengthen Indonesia’s Position in Global Trade
The Trade Expo Indonesia 2025 (TEI 2025), now in its 40th edition, is gearing up to become one of the largest trade showcases in Southeast Asia, with the goal of boosting exports and attracting international investment. The event will take place from October 15–19, 2025, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang, Banten.
This year’s theme, “Discover Indonesia’s Excellence: Trade Beyond Boundaries,” reflects the government’s focus on expanding global market access for Indonesia’s top-performing export sectors, ranging from agriculture and manufacturing to creative industries and MSMEs.
Driving Export Growth and Economic Resilience
According to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, TEI 2025 will serve as an international trading platform that connects exporters and importers directly, fostering long-term business relationships.
Indonesia’s trade balance has recorded a 57-month consecutive surplus, amounting to US$31 billion in 2024, largely driven by the country’s strong export performance to key markets such as the United States and East Asia.
“Trade Expo Indonesia is not just an exhibition — it’s a powerful driver of Indonesia’s export growth,” said Airlangga. “We expect TEI 2025 to surpass last year’s record of US$22.73 billion in trade transactions and further strengthen national economic resilience.”
He also urged Indonesian exporters to continue developing innovative, high-value products while adopting digital technologies to remain competitive globally.
1,500 Exhibitors and 30,000 Visitors Expected
The Ministry of Trade projects that TEI 2025 will feature over 1,500 exhibitors and attract 30,000 domestic and international visitors from more than 100 countries. The event will showcase a diverse array of Indonesian products divided into four main categories:
- Food, Beverages, and Agricultural Products
- Manufactured Products
- Services, Lifestyle, and Others
- UMKM BISA (Berani Inovasi Siap Adaptasi) Export Program
The government has set a transaction target of Rp 16.5 trillion, supported by business-matching sessions, investment forums, and live product demonstrations.
A Platform for Collaboration and Investment
Minister of Trade Budi Santoso emphasized that TEI 2025 aims to highlight Indonesia’s natural wealth, creative industries, and human resource potential. He noted that the event is an opportunity for exporters and investors to explore new partnerships and expand Indonesia’s global presence.
“Last year’s achievements show that Trade Expo Indonesia is a meeting point for sellers, buyers, exporters, and importers where significant business transactions occur,” said Budi.
The 2025 edition will also integrate sustainability themes — encouraging eco-friendly production and promoting Indonesia’s green industries to global buyers.
Conclusion
The Trade Expo Indonesia 2025 stands as a vital momentum for the country to accelerate export growth, strengthen investment ties, and showcase national innovation. As the world increasingly looks toward emerging markets, TEI provides the ideal stage for Indonesia to assert its role as a global trade powerhouse.
