Self-reliant, value-driven agriculture is the government’s key priority: Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday said the government’s top priority is achieving self-reliance in food production and ensuring farmer welfare, as nearly 46% of Indians depend on agriculture.

“Food security must go hand in hand with farmer prosperity,” he said while addressing the 120th Annual Session of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) New Delhi. “We must ensure that our farmers not only feed the nation but also earn with dignity and stability.”
