The unsettling event unfolded in a housing society located in the Bhoganahalli area, falling within the jurisdiction of Bellandur police station. The woman and her son had booked an Uber cab for a hospital visit with a specific pickup location.
Husband Reports Incident on Twitter
The incident came to light through a tweet from the woman’s husband, Ajay Agrawal, on the social media platform, X (formerly Twitter). Agrawal shared that his wife and son had accidentally boarded the wrong Uber cab, resulting in a physical assault by the driver.
Uber Responds and Driver Arrested
Uber responded to Agrawal’s tweet with an apology and a commitment to take appropriate actions against the accused driver. Subsequently, local authorities identified and arrested the driver, who hails from the Gadag district of the state.
