Tapway Partners with Three Thai Firms to Expand Vision AI Presence

Tapway Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia’s developer of Vision AI software, today announced the appointment of Advantech Co., Ltd., Appomax Co., Ltd., and S I Media Co., Ltd., as its official channel partners in Thailand.

This announcement builds on Tapway’s recent expansion in Indonesia, highlighting the growing regional demand for Vision AI technology. With the addition of these Thai partners, Tapway now has a channel network spanning Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand, reinforcing its position as an emerging Vision AI player in Southeast Asia.

Lim Chee How, CEO of Tapway, said, “Following our successful partnerships in Indonesia, we are now expanding into Thailand to meet the increasing need for intelligent automation. These partnerships mark another important step toward making Vision AI accessible, scalable, and locally relevant for businesses across Southeast Asia.”

Under these partnerships, the Thai companies will distribute Tapway’s SamurAI Vision AI licenses, provide localized technical expertise, and deliver implementation and support services to customers in key industries, including retail, manufacturing, logistics, and smart city infrastructure.

Matrix Choong, General Manager, Advantech Corporation (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said, “We are committed to developing a strong partnership with Tapway to drive growth together through the development of applications for smart cities and smart factories. Tapway’s powerful platform enables us to create Vision AI solutions for inspection, analytics, and advanced business intelligence (BI), enhancing our capability to deliver targeted, problem-solving services for our VIP customers. With Tapway’s technology and close support from their developer team, as stated in our MOU, we are confident in our ability to grow together, address critical customer challenges, and build a smarter future.”

Vikan Chirawatpongsa, CEO of Appomax, commented, “Our collaboration with Tapway delivers AI Vision that is truly accessible — quick to deploy, intuitive to operate, and flexible enough for customers to train additional models on their own. Combined with a reasonable price point, often far below comparable end-user platforms, it enables manufacturers to adopt advanced AI capabilities without high costs or complexity.”

Sorathat Rattanawekhinrak, Managing Director, S I MEDIA Co., Ltd., stated, “AI has become more and more talked about in Thailand over the past years. Customers started asking how AI fits into any parts of their usual processes. Tapway brings a real experience to the table in significant ways. Helping various businesses to blend in technology with real-life use cases is creating enormous business opportunities for years to come.”

Launched in 2024, Tapway’s SamurAI platform enables enterprises to deploy AI-powered visual analytics with ready-to-use or customizable models, without the need for coding. The technology is already deployed in over 2,000 locations across Southeast Asia, and Tapway aims to double this footprint within the next two years.

This latest move demonstrates Tapway’s channel-first strategy, empowering regional partners to help businesses improve safety, compliance, and operational efficiency through real-time computer vision.

“We are targeting the installation of 500 camera licenses in Thailand within the next 12 months,” said Chee How.

This marks an aggressive push to bring Vision AI to more businesses across the country.

IBM said Tuesday that it planned to cut thousands of workers as it shifts its focus to higher-growth businesses in artificial intelligence consulting and software. The company did not specify how many workers would be affected, but said in a statement the layoffs would “impact a low single-digit percentage of our global workforce.” The company had 270,000 employees at the end of last year. The number of workers in the United States is expected to remain flat despite some cuts, a spokesperson added in the statement. A massive supplier of technology to… Source link

The number of Indian startups entering famed US accelerator and investor Y Combinator’s startup programme might have dwindled to just one in 2025, down from the high of 2021, when 64 were selected. But not so for Indian investors, who are queuing up to find the next big thing in AI by relying on shortlists made by YC to help them filter their investments. In 2025, Indian investors have invested in close to 10 Y Combinator (YC) AI startups in the US. These include Tesora AI, CodeAnt, Alter AI and Frizzle, all with Indian-origin founders but based in… Source link
