Google Unveils Pixel Watch 4 with AI-Powered Gemini, Longer Battery, and Sleek Design

Google has officially announced the Pixel Watch 4, its most advanced smartwatch yet, combining a reimagined design, AI-powered experiences, and powerful fitness tools. The launch marks a significant upgrade over its predecessor, making the Pixel Watch 4 a major contender in the smartwatch market.

A Fresh Design with the Actua 360 Display

The Pixel Watch 4 debuts a striking new look while keeping the signature circular design that fans love. At the heart of its visual refresh is the Actua 360 display, a curved and seamless screen that expands the active area by 10%. The slimmer 16% glass bezels and a brightness boost of 50% (reaching 3000 cd/m²) ensure the watch remains perfectly visible, even in direct sunlight.

Google has also enhanced personalization with expressive Material 3 design elements. From vibrant watch faces to dynamic UI improvements, the Pixel Watch 4 allows users to truly make the smartwatch their own. Haptic feedback is now 15% stronger, paired with an improved speaker for more engaging interactions with Gemini, Google’s AI assistant.

Smarter Performance and Durability

Under the hood, the Pixel Watch 4 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 wearable platform alongside Google’s next-generation ML-based coprocessor. This hybrid architecture delivers 25% faster performance with half the power consumption.

Durability also sees a boost, thanks to aerospace-grade aluminum and specially engineered Corning Gorilla Glass. Water resistance up to 50 meters makes the smartwatch swim-ready, while for the first time, Google has introduced replaceable components including the display and battery, making the Pixel Watch 4 more sustainable and easier to maintain.

Extended Battery Life and Fast Charging

Battery life has long been a deciding factor for smartwatch users, and Google has made significant strides. The Pixel Watch 4 offers up to 30 hours of battery life on the 41 mm model and 40 hours on the larger 45 mm variant. In power-saving mode, this extends to two and three days, respectively.

Charging is now faster too, with a new dock that powers the watch from 0% to 50% in just 15 minutes. That’s a 25% improvement over the previous generation, making the Pixel Watch 4 one of the most efficient wearables on the market.

Advanced Health and Fitness Tracking

Health and fitness are central to the Pixel Watch 4, which introduces its most accurate tracking yet. Key improvements include:

  • Smarter sleep analysis: 18% more precise sleep cycle tracking thanks to advanced machine learning models.
  • Skin temperature monitoring: Detects fluctuations outside personal norms to provide early wellness insights.
  • Dual-frequency GPS: Delivers precise route tracking in dense cities and rugged terrains.
  • Cycling stats on Fitbit app: Real-time streaming of performance data to a bike-mounted display.
  • New workout modes: Over 50 exercise options, now including basketball and pickleball.
  • Automatic activity detection: AI-powered recognition and logging, even if you forget to start tracking.

As the only smartwatch capable of detecting pulse loss, the Pixel Watch 4 stands out as a leader in safety-focused health monitoring.

Gemini AI Integration on Your Wrist

The biggest leap forward is the integration of Gemini, Google’s AI assistant. With a simple wrist lift, users can activate Gemini without tapping or pressing buttons. From managing tasks and answering questions to offering contextual suggestions in conversations, Gemini makes the Pixel Watch 4 smarter than ever.

This seamless AI experience ensures users can stay connected and productive even while multitasking — whether carrying groceries, walking the dog, or grabbing coffee.

Availability and Pricing

Pre-orders for the Pixel Watch 4 are live now, with general availability starting October 9, 2025. Pricing remains consistent with last year’s lineup:

  • 41 mm model: €399 (Wi-Fi), €499 (LTE)
  • 45 mm model: €449 (Wi-Fi), €549 (LTE)

The Pixel Watch 4 is available in a range of colors designed to pair with Pixel smartphones and can be customized further with an expanded lineup of straps.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it. He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
