X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced a brief outage impacting thousands of users in the US on Thursday. Reports of issues peaked at over 18,000, but quickly subsided to under 600 within a short time frame, according to Downdetector. The social media platform did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the disruption.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it.
