Rockstar Games has announced a delay for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. Originally slated for a Fall 2025 release, confirmed by parent company Take-Two Interactive, the game will now launch on May 26, 2026.
The news, revealed on Friday, comes after the game’s initial announcement in December 2023. While a firm release date has finally been established, Rockstar Games did not accompany the announcement with a new trailer or screenshots.
Despite the delay, Rockstar assured fans that they will share more information about GTA 6 in the near future. The studio hopes this extra development time will allow them to deliver a polished and immersive experience that meets the high expectations of the Grand Theft Auto community. The delay undoubtedly comes as a disappointment to eager fans, but the promise of further updates offers a glimmer of hope.
