Nintendo has increased the price of its first-generation Nintendo Switch consoles in the US, attributing the change to prevailing “market conditions.” This affects the original Switch, Switch Lite, and OLED model. Select accessories for the original Nintendo Switch and the rumored “Switch 2” will also see price increases.
The announcement, made on Nintendo’s website, comes amid ongoing speculation about a new console. Interestingly, the price of the newly released “Switch 2” console has not been raised. While Nintendo remains tight-lipped about the specific factors driving the price increase, “market conditions” suggests potential factors like supply chain disruptions, inflation, or component costs are at play.
