Meta’s Adam Mosseri to Hand Over Day-to-Day Responsibilities of Threads to Gen AI Executive: Report

Threads, Meta’s answer to X (formerly Twitter), is gaining traction. Recent reports indicate Threads boasts 115.1 million daily active users (DAUs) across Android and iOS, nearing X’s 132 million. This comes as X experiences a 15.2% year-over-year decline in DAU growth.

Amidst this growth, Instagram head Adam Mosseri is reportedly relinquishing his day-to-day management of Threads. According to an internal memo, Connor Hayes, a Meta executive, will be taking over the reins. This move suggests Meta is prioritizing Threads’ development and dedicated management as it strives to compete with X in the microblogging space. The change in leadership signifies a potential shift in strategy and focus for the platform as it continues its pursuit of user growth and market share.
