Ubisoft revealed the first major story expansion for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, “The Claws of Awaji,” launching on September 16th. This expansion adds over 10 hours of gameplay to the main game.
Beyond the expansion, Ubisoft outlined their post-launch plans, promising free updates throughout the summer. These updates will include a New Game+ mode, providing increased replayability, along with new achievements and trophies to challenge players. Further unspecified features are also planned.
The announcement comes after Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has already reached over five million players, indicating strong early interest in the game. They also hinted at a potential release on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console, suggesting a broader reach for the title.
