HCLTech expands partnership with Google Cloud to develop generative AI solutions

HCLTech announced on Wednesday the expansion of its strategic partnership with Google Cloud to leverage generative artificial intelligence (AI) and collaborate on joint solutions. As part of this expansion, HCLTech plans to train over 18,000 professionals in Google Cloud’s generative AI technologies and establish a dedicated Google Cloud Generative AI Center of Excellence (GenAI CoE).

The emergence of generative AI is expected to drive innovation across various industries, offering enterprises the opportunity to accelerate their digital transformation efforts. Kalyan Kumar, CTO and Head of Ecosystems at HCLTech, expressed enthusiasm for the expanded partnership, stating that it will enable enterprises to responsibly adopt generative AI and double down on digital transformation initiatives.

HCLTech’s AI platforms and solutions will make use of Google Cloud’s comprehensive suite of enterprise generative AI products and services, including Vertex AI, Generative AI Studio, Model Garden, Generative AI App Builder, and the underlying language models (LLMs) that power these innovations.

The GenAI CoE will tap into the AI expertise available at HCLTech’s Cloud Native Labs in London, Dallas, and Noida, India.

Furthermore, HCLSoftware, a provider of enterprise software solutions, has plans to accelerate its own digital transformation by adopting Google Workspace, Duet AI for Google Workspace and Developers, and deploying Vertex AI for its clients.

Kevin Ichhpurani, Corporate Vice President of Global Partner Ecosystem & Channels at Google Cloud, expressed excitement about the investment and resources provided by HCLTech. He believes that these initiatives will enable enterprises to implement, scale, and derive value from generative AI, transforming their businesses in responsible and innovative ways.
