The core of the Roadshow takes place on July 1, featuring three dynamic panel discussions between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. These conversations aim to address key challenges and opportunities across global healthtech development, commercialization, and investment.

Panel 1: East Meets West – Scaling HealthTech Across Borders

This session explores what it takes to scale healthtech innovation across international borders—especially between the East and West. With Asia’s diverse regulatory environments, cultural differences, and growing demand for digital and medical technologies, panelists will reflect on the strategies, partnerships, and support systems that can enable companies to thrive globally.

Topics to be discussed include cross-border investment, regional regulatory alignment, international market entry strategies, and the role of government-led initiatives in supporting MedTech innovation. The session brings together a mix of founders, investors, and policy advisors:

  • Landon Lack, Founder, President and CEO, China MedConnect
  • Marion Zammit, Chief Foreign Direct Investment Specialist, Malta Enterprise
  • William Jin, Founding Partner, Mednovation Ltd.
  • Gavin Leonard, CEO, MedTech Syndicates
  • Daisuke Tomita, President, Japan Oral Health Association (NPO)

Panel 2: From Bench to Bedside – Accelerating the Lab-to-Clinic Journey

Innovative technologies often face a long and uncertain path from initial discovery to clinical application. This panel focuses on how academic breakthroughs and research-based innovations can be successfully translated into commercial and clinical success.

The conversation will touch on clinical validation, partnerships between universities and startups, intellectual property challenges, and how to navigate early regulatory and reimbursement hurdles. Panelists will draw from their firsthand experience working across academia, entrepreneurship, and legal advisory.

  • Adrian Lam, CEO, CorVista
  • Andrew Li, Vice President, Won & Ha Partners
  • Jeremy Teoh, Associate Professor, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
  • John Corbett, CEO & Founder, Sanitus Health
  • Kareen Looi, CEO, Pedra Technology
  • Christian Espinosa, CEO, Blue Goat Cyber

Panel 3: Investors Talk – Where is the Smart Money Going in HealthTech?

With increased investor interest in MedTech, diagnostics, and digital health, this panel will unpack where capital is being directed—and why. From corporate venture arms to early-stage accelerators and regional funds, the panel will offer insights into how founders can better understand what investors are looking for in 2025 and beyond.

Discussion points will include investment criteria, current deal-flow trends, valuation expectations, and how to stand out in a crowded fundraising environment. Investors will also reflect on how AI, aging populations, and healthcare delivery reform are influencing their portfolios.

  • Chris Lloyd, Co-Founder, Healthcare Dialogues
  • Eric Woo, Director of Operations & Investment, Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund
  • Cyndi Zhai, Founder & CEO, HiMed
  • Dr. Dylan Attard, CEO, MedTech World

Media Interviews at the MedTech World Lounge

Following the main stage program, select speakers will take part in exclusive one-on-one interviews with MedTech World’s editorial and content team. These conversations will be featured across MedTech World’s media channels and offer speakers a chance to highlight their vision, projects, or company milestones to a broader international audience.

July 2 – Delegation Tour to Shenzhen (Qianhai) and MedTech Gathering

To extend the impact of the Roadshow, MedTech World will host a cross-border delegation trip to Shenzhen’s Qianhai innovation zone. The visit, in partnership with local government and startup ecosystems, will offer a curated glimpse into China’s fast-evolving MedTech landscape.

Conclusion

The MedTech World Hong Kong Roadshow is designed to spark real conversations, foster partnerships, and surface actionable insights at the intersection of innovation and healthcare. Whether you are a founder looking to expand into Asia, an investor seeking quality deal flow, or a policymaker in medical technology, this event offers a valuable opportunity to engage directly with global decision-makers.
