Apple launches Apple Store app in India ahead of retail expansion

Apple has launched the Apple Store app in India, offering customers a seamless and personalised way to explore and purchase its wide range of products and services.

The app, now available for download on the App Store, allows users to shop directly from Apple and receive customised recommendations tailored to their needs.

“At Apple, our customer is at the centre of everything we do, and we are thrilled to introduce the Apple Store app to reach even more users in India, further deepening our connections,” said Karen Rasmussen, Apple’s head of Retail Online.

The Apple Store app boasts an intuitive design with dynamic features to enhance the shopping experience. The Products tab serves as a one-stop destination to discover the latest Apple devices, accessories, and retail programs such as Apple Trade In and financing options.

Meanwhile, the For You tab curates timely recommendations and provides quick access to favourited or saved items, ensuring a personalised touch. For those looking to maximise their new devices, the Go Further tab connects customers with Apple Specialists for online setup sessions, short instructional videos, and Today at Apple sessions in local stores.

Apple has also added personalisation options to the app. Customers can customise their Mac with advanced configurations, such as more powerful chips and additional storage.

Personalisation extends to AirPods, iPads, Apple Pencils, and AirTags, which can be engraved for free with emojis, initials, names, or numbers in multiple languages. Soon, users will also be able to schedule digital gift messages, adding another layer of personalisation.

Delivery and pickup options have been streamlined through the app, ensuring customers receive their products quickly and conveniently. Whether opting for doorstep delivery or in-store pickup, the process is designed to be as smooth as possible.

This launch comes after Apple’s first physical stores in India opened in Delhi and Mumbai in April 2023. The company is now planning to expand further with new stores in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai.

A Moneycontrol report, on Thursday, revealed that the Cupertino giant is now among the top five smartphone brands in India for the first time since it started selling iPhones in the country.

Preliminary data from market trackers IDC and Counterpoint Research, exclusively revealed to Moneycontrol, showed that the company has gained a 9-10% market share during the festive September–December period of 2024.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it. He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
