Paytm launches new QR for merchant partners, soundbox at Maha Kumbh Mela

Paytm, operated by One 97 Communications, has announced its participation in the Maha Kumbh Mela by deploying its soundbox and card machines across the event to pay for parking, eateries, daily commutes and travel arrangements.

Apart from services through Paytm UPI, UPI Lite and card payments, the fintech has also launched the ‘Bhavya Mahakumbh QR’ for its merchant partners. Additionally, pilgrims can also link their Rupay credit card on the Paytm app to make card payments directly through their phones.

“Maha Kumbh is a momentous occasion that brings together crores of people in celebration of faith and devotion. We have been deeply moved by the warmth and support of the merchants and the city in embracing digital payments, which has enabled us to play a meaningful role in this event,” a Paytm spokesperson said.
