macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta 7 now available ahead of public launch

Today Apple has released a new beta for Mac users with a developer account. macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta 7 offers the latest version of the big Apple Intelligence update ahead of the fast-approaching public launch. Here’s what to expect.

What to expect from today’s beta 7 update

We are only about two weeks out from the expected public release date for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1.

This trio of updates will bring the first set of Apple Intelligence features to compatible iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

That means today’s developer beta 7 is one of the last iterations on macOS Sequoia 15.1 before that public launch.

As a result, don’t expect anything noteworthy in terms of new features.

Instead, today’s beta will likely focus entirely on bringing continued bug fixes and performance improvements to the Mac’s software. Very similar to the beta 7 updates for iOS and iPadOS 18.1 that recently dropped.

Coming soon to Mac users

We’re likely to see the RC (release candidate) version of macOS 15.1 arrive next week, with the public launch in the last few days of October.

In addition to Apple Intelligence features, one highlight of macOS 15.1 is a key upgrade to iPhone Mirroring that lets you drag and drop files between the Mac and your mirrored iPhone.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it. He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
